Adam Armstrong, CPA, CA, LPA
Managing Partner
As Managing Partner of Armstrong Jones LLP, Adam ensures strategic alignment of the firm’s day-to-day operations with its overall values.
Adam entered public accounting in 2012 and obtained his CA designation in 2015. His past with a reputable mid-sized firm provided him with a strong understanding of the “people” business, and a breadth of practical experience.
Adam has fostered the trust and confidence of many entrepreneurs, including those operating in construction and commercial real estate, retail and manufacturing, and other family-owned businesses. In addition, Adam has supported many not-for-profit organizations through their audit of the financial statements.
Overall, Adam strives to support those around him in achieving their maximum potential.
Connor Jones, MAcc, CPA, LPA
Partner
Connor moved to Ottawa in 2013 and is now proud to call it home. He attended Carleton University where he obtained both his Bachelor of Commerce, Honours degree in 2018 and his Master of Accounting in 2019 before receiving his CPA designation in 2020.
Prior to co-founding Armstrong Jones LLP, Connor worked at a mid-size firm in Ottawa for seven years. He has experience working in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors and specializes in the construction, residential development, and retail industries. He has a passion for helping his clients succeed, striving to be the person they call for financial advice when they need it.
Outside of work, Connor enjoys skiing, golfing, and attending concerts and sporting events.
Jeff Rowsell, CPA, CA, LPA
Partner
Born and raised in Ottawa, Jeff has always called this community home. Jeff studied Commerce, with a focus in accounting, at Carleton University and served on the Sprott Accounting Students’ Association. While attending university, Jeff simultaneously operated a residential painting franchise and volunteered in the community. These experiences fostered Jeff’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for community.
In 2012, Jeff began his accounting career at a reputable mid-sized firm based in Ottawa, obtaining his Chartered Accountant designation in 2015. Over the past decade, he has provided assurance and tax services for owner-managed businesses and numerous local and national non-profit and charitable organizations.
Jeff is committed to guiding his clients not only to financial success, but in realizing their broader visions and aspirations.
Arooj Omer, CPA, FCA
Associate Partner
A Chartered Accountant from Pakistan and an FCA who later obtained a CPA after working in Canada, Arooj boasts over nine years of public accounting experience. She began her professional journey with PwC in Lahore, Pakistan, dedicating six successful years to the firm before relocating to Ottawa in 2018. Her extensive public accounting background equips her with a profound understanding of audit and assurance engagements, spanning diverse sectors, including both private and publicly-listed entities.
Before joining Armstrong Jones LLP, Arooj worked at a mid-sized firm in Ottawa where she serviced clients in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Known for her results-driven approach and commitment to excellence, Arooj has built and maintained strong client relationships, solidifying her reputation as a trusted advisor.
Beyond work, Arooj expresses her creativity through painting and enjoys exploring new destinations. She is also deeply dedicated to the education of underprivileged children in developing nations.
Taran Wassan, CPA
Manager
Taran was born and raised in Punjab, India before moving to Ottawa in 2017 to obtain his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in accounting from Carleton University, later graduating with distinction in 2021.
Taran entered public accounting in early 2020 at a mid-size firm in Ottawa where he accumulated three years of accounting and taxation knowledge prior to joining Armstrong Jones LLP in May 2023. Taran has experience working in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, giving him a well-rounded skillset that allows him to service a wide range of clients in various industries.
Taran was a successful writer of the September 2023 CFE and received his CPA in 2024.
In his spare time, Taran has a passion for playing both cricket and table tennis.
